Guardian Tales: WORLD 5

 

City Of Shen is the 5th World of Season One and the 5th World of the main storyline of Guardian Tales.

The Knight, on their way to find the next Champion, finds themselves in the City of Shen, where they get involved in a tournament set by an old master seeking for a disciple to train.

5-1 Introduction Test Site

You land inside a cave system and move right. You encounter several enemy groups and ignore the stairs for the time being to get another mysterious piece and a star piece both being further right. In the last room you find a switch that could be pushed down with a block.

It lowers a block at the very left of the cave system, so move there. A bomb is now accessible which you could use to blast away the stones and open a path to the prison. Battle the guard as part of the Martial Arts Prison Escape quest to get the Prison Key to it. In the other cell Girgas is locked up and asks you for food which starts the quest Gourmet Dragon Boy. Its solution lies outside this level, but shall not be spoiled here.

Now take the stairs and you find a tiger baby being trapped. While you move the big block to release it, the mother appears. However, the little one defends you and in the end you are able to mount the tiger to escape the cave.

You are back at the bridge and could move on. At the next junction turn upwards and you meet a singing girl that will follow you on SNS. If you take the stairs next to her, you get back to the cave, but could now access the star piece you were not able to reach earlier.

Move on the south and you encounter the next battle. Before leaving the area you realize that it looks as if there is a path to the left. This turns out to be false, but there are some pots hiding the last mysterious piece.

After the healing fountain, you meet the Kung Fu master again, who sent you to practice. However, first, you help the Little Princess to your right, who is trying to destroy a massive stone with her fists. A bomb will do the trick and she will reward you with a star piece. Another piece is not too far away. Just take the fire pit with you and light the brazier at the end of the practice are. It will cause a chain reaction that ends with a massive stone being destroyed and revealing the piece.

Next, you find the statue for mysterious pieces which rewards you with the Chinese Swordsman costume, before the final battle may begin.

There are only a few people who made it through the training course of the Kung Fu master, but still too many for him to take as scholars. A discussion happens, resulting in two teams that start fighting each other. You are side by side with Kung Fu Master Mei and Kung Fu Master Fei, but still you have a tough fight against the others. Keep in mind that Mei and Fei can not die in this battle, so running away and letting them do the job might be cowardly, but is definitely an effective tactic.

5-2 First Step of the Training

After your training, you feel strong enough to attack the master, so you chose either Mei or Fei to join you, whereas the other one tries to distract him. Of course, he does not fall for your little trick and beats you up in a fight whatever you do. After the fight your master gets interrupted and needs to help some villagers, therefore he pauses the training for now and gives you some free time. So finally we could explore this stage.

Go back to the mountain which the Master threw you off at your second visit and cross the rope bridge north. You see the Crystal Shotgun lying between the stones. Not only destroy the small ones, but the big ones, too to get a star piece hiding under them. Return to the southern mountain peak and interact with one of the green diamond-shaped bushes in its south. It will let you fall down and you meet another Kung Fu master who will give you some background story on this stage as well as the main reward of 9.800 Experience.

Next, you meet Lana again and as always she will challenge you for a race. This time it is a little tricky as you have to fight your way through some dummies. The one of lighter wood is destroyable and leave only a small gap. So precise movement and sometimes rather walking than running does the trick to winning—unless you have a hero like Sumire who rushes past enemies she hits and gets you behind the barrier you're attacking. Besides the rewards for the quest Stronger and Faster! you receive a star piece, too.

Mowing forward you reach an area with four fighting platforms. Get to the lower right on an move the big block onto the switch, it will give you access to a bomb on the bottom left platform. Use the bomb to blast open the stairs to the upper left platform to get a star piece.

The last star piece is inside a pot near the exit you took at your first visit to this stage.

5-3 First Training

Welcome to your first training with the Kung Fu Master. It has a strong reference to Dragonball, as he lets you carry a heavy turtle shell all the way through. Before you start the "race" against the Master, break the pots at start. One of them is hiding a star piece.

You job is to catch and fight white rabbits on your way, whereas most of them are just sitting around. Only for the third you need to push the big block to its right to create a dead end for the rabbit. Afterwards its easily fought like the other.

Last but not least a massive rabbit arrives and fights you. Defeat it to end this stage.

5-4 Second Training

After the Master threw you down the mountain you land inside a bamboo garden, one of the dropped stones not too far away from you. However, a monkey appears and steals one of them.

Do not follow the monkey at start, but turn south to reach an area with four big blocks, each with massive stones next to it. Destroy the stones and move the blocks - one is hiding a switch - to get access to a passage where a star piece is awaiting you. On top you see a small block in that small area which needs to be moved onto a switch to light a brazier somewhere else in this map.

Move forward you meet Mei and Fei again as they fight the monkey to get back the stone. The monkey wins and runs away, so that you have to follow it. On you way, turn left at the first possible junction and you reach an area where another small block could be moved onto a switch and will light a second brazier. Additionally you could open a shortcut to the beginning of the map which may come handy later.

Return and go on following the main patch and you will see the four braziers of which two shall already be lit. Now you realize they are guarding the entrance to a treasure chest which has not only the Neko Punch Gauntlet in it, but an Old Music Book. After this, the path will split and you could reach several areas. Make sure you take every way between them to collect the purple coins.

South-East you enter an area with four agressive panda fighters immediately attacking you. Once you defeated them, the third switch for the braziers is accessible.

North-East you will meet a Shen City Resident who would like to follow you on SNS. In the same area a star piece is hiding inside a shimmering pot.

As your search for a stone moves on and you even nearly get one (if Mei/Fei would not have been quicker), you eventually reach an area in the north-west with residents of a village, which is terrorized by a giant rabbit. They ask your help and reveal the secret location of Scary Bamboo Rabbit.

At the most northern point you meet a giant rabbit attacking you. After the battle you get access to the fourth and last switch for the braziers. The path to the treasure chest is finally open!

Collect the treasures and clear eventually missing parts of the ways for purple coins, before you go to the exit. Right in front of it will be the much needed stone to go on with your Kung Fu training.

5-5 Old Dragon Village

After the cutscene do not follow Mei and Fei, but turn north first. You reach a puzzle with the target to push a big block onto the switches in a certain pattern. Move it downwards first, until the first two blocks move down, then move the block upwards until the third barrier lowers and turn in downwards again to open the pathway completely. A Star Piece is yours.

Now turn south and follow the main path. You soon meet a group of villagers asking your help. Destroy the pots in that area to get another Star Piece.

Next screen you see a pot with a quest marker hovering over it, but as soon as you want to talk, it runs away. The Pot Man is still started. While you follow the pot make sure to move through a wall at your left at the screen after the next fight. A Star Piece is hiding there. Soon after you see a lot of pots standing around, but as you want to destroy all of them, it turns out one is filled with the Pot Man. Interact with him several times until he shows you the map to a Secret Cave.

As you move on, a health fountain appears on your way. Go left at that junction to arrive at another switch puzzle. Press them in the order top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left and sprint over the lowered barriers to receive the last Star Piece.

Next you end up at a huge gate guarded by two girls. If you talk to them, they will inform you about a fighting competition at the Tiger Clan Dojo.

Back at the health fountain you shall have returned all villagers by now, which lets you move on. Ahead of you is a tough fight against the evil scholars from the beginning of this stage, but Mei and Fei are not able to die in this battle. So let them do the job and just evade the enemies to be successful. However, next their boss is waiting for you and he surely would destroy you in no time, if the Kung Fu Master would not come to your help. He is able to protect you, but sadly he dies in this battle.

5-6 Black Martial Arts

At the start, you are attacked by a group of ninjas and Mei needs to hold your back, so only Fei assists you.

After the main gate, turn left after the battle and at the next screen break some pots to find a hidden star piece. Follow the path north and you get first into a fight with two sumos and afterwards reach the central area of this map with a Healing Altar. There you meet as well the Bomb Postwoman who follows you on SNS. Move north to the quest marker and you receive the main goal of the stage - destroying the energy stones.

Now you could run southwards to get a mysterious piece and open a path to the entrance gate.

aka the fire pit with you and move left again, this time as far as possible. You reach an area with Dragon Talon Clan Ranpang standing on a platform and a mysterious piece lying on another one. Light the fire pit and directly use it to light the braziers next to you. This burns the boxes in between them and you are now able to jump down from the platform and go through the door.

At the place you are now is not much to do for the time being. So jump down from the platform left and use the bomb to destroy the massive stone south of you. Now you could move the big block onto the switch which will make the jump pad you just passed accessible. Walk to the door north of you and end up next to Ranpang who reveals the location of the Dragon Talon's Hideout before leaving. As well a star piece could be collected here.

Jump down the platform to your right and walk again through the first door below the braziers. You are now able to use the jump pad which will boost you to another star piece. Afterwards move left and you get the last mysterious piece and could open a shortcut to the entrance gate again.

Move back and use the door you just passed before, it will bring you to the top left of this map. You are able to collect some purple coins here and get into a fight with some enemies. Directly right to them is the last star piece. Moving left from here shall bring you to the last energy stone, so you could finally leave this map.

However, do not forget to turn in your mysterious pieces before leaving. So go once more through the door at the bottom left to reach the statue and get the Shura Mei costume as reward.

5-7 Shen Mountain Fist

At start ignore the star piece and head on. You soon reach an area with a blocked path guarded by to braziers. Destroy the stones left and right of your way and you will find a fire pit and a place to light it, as well as the Black Leather Gauntlet. Use it to enlight the braziers and the barrier will open. Before you pass, move back to the star pieces with your fire pit and hold it as close as possible to one of the bombs to set it on fire. The explosion will open your way to the star piece.

Next you get into a tough fight against the scholars of the Viper Clan Dojo again. If it is getting too hard, keep in mind Mei/Fei can't die, so running away and letting them do the job is a possible tactic. This is a one time fight, so once you have beaten the two, you could re-enter the stage without having to fight them again.

Again ignore the star piece as it is unreachable for now and directly head on to the Health Altar to restore your energy.

Turn right and you meet Cecil again. In the screen north of her you could find a star piece inside of one of the boxes. Head further north and you could pick up another star piece openly lying around. Behind it are three gongs which give different sounds and the fighting dummy will name you the correct pattern to click - as long as you have acquired the music book in 5-4 Second Training. (BE AWARE: When you hit the attack button, depending on your equipment, it'll do 2 attacks at once, making it hard to complete). Behind the gate is video record #5. At last leave the gong area to the left to pick up some purple coins before you enter the door. It will lead you to the star piece which you saw after entering the main gate. Get back to the center from here.

This time take the left path and you meet a Fatness Trainer who will follow you on SNS and their drill instructor. Make sure that you break all pots in this area. One of them turns out to be unbreakable and once you interact with it, you get transported to a mountain top where the Sword Empress Akayuki costume is lying around. Once you are finished here, talk to the old man to get back to the stage.

Turn upwards and several massive blocks will be in your way north. At the first row move the middle one time up and than the right on to its right. Now you could access the left block in a way to push it downwards and get to the Demon Claw. At the next row you again push the middle block one up and then the left and right block each to their respective sides. Now go for the upper right block and push it upwards again until you are able to get through the gap and again address the left block from its upper side and push it downwards. The last star piece is underneath it.

Next you will reach the entrance gate to the Viper Clan Dojo

You shall now have completed this stage and could aim for the final fight of this World 5. The boss has four different attacks which are more or less powerful. At first some strong punches in a straight line, but this is easily evadable. The second attack happens if you move too far: it is a hit after teleportation – you should be constantly on a move to avoid it. Next is an attack which goes straight in all four directions and pulls you to him while dealing a significant amount of damage. Be quick and move into the diagonal gaps to evade it and still be close enough to deal damage. Last is the most powerful attack which gets announced by turning the whole scene into darkness. The boss throws a huge energy ball at you which likely kills you instantly. So do not try to attack or do anything but run to get out of the red circle.
