Guardian Tales: WORLD 1

 


Kanterbury Forest
 is the 1st World of Season One and the 1st World of the main storyline of Guardian Tales. It was released on February 24th, 2020 on the Korean server, and was released on July 28th, 2020 globally.

After the PrologueThe Knight is thrown into Kanterbury Forest with the Little Princess, and must chase after her through the forest in an attempt to bring her to safety and reunite with their companions, Captain Eva and Queen Camilla.


1-1 Inn

After falling from the sky, you are left unconscious. The Little Princess is awake and lures some goblin monsters away from you in an attempt to protect you. She throws a stone at them and the goblins chase after her. You wake up after they are gone.

If you follow the Little Princess, you face more goblin monsters and can see the Little Princess being chased by a bunch of them. The princess jumps over some rocks so you cannot follow her at this point and must take a detour. During this detour, you come across small introduction puzzle using the same lanterns as in the Prologue. You will need to light up all the standing lanterns with the torch to lower the stones so you can pass through.

Continuing on, you will come across a treasure chest surrounded by signs, making it impossible to access said chest. You can pick up a lantern and light the signs on fire to access it. The chest will reward you with Mole Glove, which allows you to drill through the small, cracked rocks you have seen on your way.

Following the path that the Little Princess had taken, you will actually find her on the ground seeming unconscious. As you run up to her, you trigger a trap that launches you in the air upside down, hanging from a rope. As you're hanging, three people will approach you: a red panda, red-haired woman and silver-haired man named "Danny". Danny grabs the Princess and the woman comes to tell you that there is a bounty of 3,000,000 gold for the Princess. You are given a choice as what to say, but regardless of your choice the mercenaries will take the princess with them and leave you hanging.

Following the instructions on the screen you can swing in the trap. Innkeeper Loraine will eventually come and and release you from the trap. She will question why you were in the trap and you will tell her that they took the Little Princess away. Loraine is happy to help you find her and joins your party (temporarily). If you follow the path and defeat the last monsters, you will exit the stage and unlock Kanterbury Forest Passage 1.

1-2 Forest Entrance

Entering the stage with the Innkeeper Loraine, she will give you a Phone. With the phone, you will unlock the SNS from the main menu. Loraine will follow you immediately and says that she will be the "annoying fairy" that will bug you while you're looking for the Little Princess.

Following the path up towards the objective, will lead you to some bouncing pads. Just step on the orange pad to get launched on the other side of the fallen tree trunks. Continuing, you will come across a treasure chest, which will reveal upon opening it at Lv. 5 Storm Sword. Upon opening it, a bunch of goblin monsters will surround you and the game will prompt you to use the sword's special ability that will wipe them out in one move.

Defeating the goblins will open a new path that you can follow. After some more monsters, you will come across a Healing Altar that you can activate and regenerate the health of all of your party members. Following the path will lead you to a trapped monster. In the cage, there is White Beast, which upon releasing will wag its tail at you. Once you approach the Beast again, it will suddenly attack you. Loraine laughs at you while you shake off the White Beast, who will run off once you succeed. You will be given a new subquest

While you continue to follow the path, you will come across another a bunch of rocks. Just use Mole Glove to go trough the smaller rocks and make a path towards the button. One you press the button, it will lower the stones and open a new path. After this you only need to follow the path to reach the end. You will pass Cecil's first concert before the end. Completing the stage will unlock 1-3 In the Forest.

1-3 In the Forest

That you will have to push around to get past them. Just push them forward until there is room for, going north and then right, will lead you behind a big pushing stone that you can't push, because of some bushes in the way. You will see on the other side of the stone, the Little Princess is being chased by the same mercenaries that took her with them. The red panda pushes her off the mound and falls with her, destroying all the bushes on the other side and leaving him unconscious. The Princess continues to run away and two of the other mercenaries keep following her while leaving the Panda behind.

You can now push the stone so you can go trough, if you talk to the panda, he will wake up and pick a fight with you. This will initiate a boss fight with The Mercenary Panda, but he will die in one hit as he only has 3 HP. After his defeat he will still bark at you and you are given the choice to either torture him or leave him. Neither will affect the game play as you continue down the path and exit the stage.

1-4 Forest Border

Upon entering Forest BorderLoraine will tell you that she has some of her own things to deal with and leaves the party. As son as you go down from where you entered, you will witness another cutscene. You'll see a trap with some meat inside of it. The White Beast will come eat the meat and get instantly trapped. You'll have to fight a couple of mobs before you can free the Beast and once you do, it will attack you and run away again.

If you follow the path towards the objective, you will come to find a treasure chest. But once you open it, it will be empty and a boss will appear instead: Head of Goblin. Once he attacks you the White Beast will appear if you freed him earlier. He will join the fight against the boss and help you.

Once the boss is defeated, he will drop a red shoe into a tree that will be unreachable to you. Once you talk to the Beast again, it will faint after the tough fight. You will create a bonfire for the Beast and give some food for it. You decide to rest for the night and morning comes. The White Beast wakes you up and gives the red shoe to you. You now have Pegasus Sneakers.

Once you try to leave the boss area, you first ask the Beast to come with you but they refuse. You go on without them, but before you go too far, the Beast follows you again and you recruit it permanently. They will automatically join your party.

Using the shoes you can now access the part of the stage in west. There is a block that goes down as you press the button and it has a timer on it. Just run from the button to the block and you can easily make it. Behind the block there is Lv. 16 Training Claw.

Going toward the objective, you will see the merchant trio without the panda stuck in a trap screaming at "that wench". They will tell you that Little Princess was taken by Loraine. You have choice to either call the trio, now duo liars or call the innkeeper. If you call her, she will not answer. Then the duo asks you to let them free from the trap and you have another choice. They will be yelling mad at you either way, so the choice is yours. Going past them, you will exit the stage.

1-5 Ancient Ruin Entrance

You'll see a cutscene of Loraine and the Little Princess. Loraine is telling the Princess that she will bring her to you and lead the way. The Little Princess drops her handkerchief on the way. While they are sneaking past some Ogres, you make Loraine's phone ring and the ogres are alerted. While Loraine and the princess run away, the ogres start chasing them.

Going along the path, you'll see the Blacksmith chasing some armored ghost monsters. She will boast about her skills as a blacksmith and give you the sub quest Blacksmith and Hyper.

Following the objective, will lead you to Lv.1 Master Blade which you can pull out of the stone. Doing so will result in you being attacked by a bunch of monsters, but you can use the Master Blade to quickly defeat them. As soon as you're about to leave, the Blacksmith will come out of nowhere to "upgrade" your newly acquired Master Blade. You have no choice but to let her and watch from the side as the Master Blade breaks into pieces.

Just as the Master Sword broke, an Elf Woman comes from the bushes to look for it. She tells you that she was supposed to kill an evil pig with it. The Blacksmith gives her a gun as compensation and she leaves with it. After she's gone, the Blacksmith will give you a Blacksmith Beeper to call her when you're in need. This unlocks Weapon Enhancement System. You'll also finish Blacksmith and Hyper and receive Energetic Blacksmith's Card and a Forest Key which you can use to exit the stage.

1-6 Deep Ancient Ruin

Going up from where you killed the stage's first monsters, you'll find a secret passageway. If you talk to the ghost up there, he'll show off by jumping on barbed iron blocks. The Delusional Spirit will follow you on SNS.

Just following the path, you'll come across a spot that is lit by sunlight. In the middle is Lv. 20 Energy Rifle.

Going south from the healing altar, you'll see a pedestal surrounded by bushes. Destroy all the bushes to reveal a ghost, who will thank you for cleaning it up. He'll give you a Star Piece.

From Cecil's concert to the east, you'll see another passageway. It will lead you to another star piece, but also a grave. Interact with the grave to unlock Fallen Guardians.

Following path almost till the end, you'll bump into a girl, who comes out of the woods. She'll tell you that she's lost and wishes for you to escort her back safely. You'll receive the sub quest The Lost Girl...?. Once you turn your back on her, she'll start to charge attack and if you don't turn around before it reaches the end, she'll attack you and drink your blood until you pass out. You can encounter her again at the same spot you found her last time, and she'll deny ever seeing you. If you bring her back to the spot full of sunlight where you found the Energy Rifle, she'll actually attack you and you'll have to fight her as a boss. Once you defeat her, she'll run away, saying that she'll never do it again, but once you pass the same spot where she was when you first found her, she'll jump attack at you and you'll be prompted with a quick time event. If it's a success she'll join you as a permanent summoned hero and you acquire Karina as an option for your party.

1-7 Champion's Sword

The Champion's Sword stage is a mysterious forest that will make you lost if you make even one wrong turn. Going the wrong direction will send you back to the beginning. Just follow the Little Princess' handkerchiefs and you'll reach the other side.

After the Healing Altar, you can finally see the princess and Loraine there. The princess will question as where are they going, because the princess knows that this is not the way to the inn. Loraine will try to make excuses but just as she was confessing, the Mercenary Trio, better know as the Mad Panda Trio, drops from the sky on her. They are bout to catch the princess but you jump in and a boss fight will start.

The tactic here is to just avoid dodge the charge attacks from afar, but then get close when they spinning the spiky ball. Once you defeat them, the princess is finally reunited with you. But Loraine is still watching from afar and runs away as you see her. Following her will lead you to another sword in the stone. The Little Princess asks you to pull it out as she is too weak to do so.

Once you pull on the sword, you'll be sent flying to the sky and there will be an angel-like figure named Lili. She'll tell you that she is Little Princess' ancestor and a prophesy is about to come true. The prophecy said that "an unknown evil would come and bring about the end of the world". The sword that you pulled out turned out to be the Champion's Sword that was meant to be used to defeat the evil. But you need to collect the Champions before you can use it to its full power. Lili will tell you to go back to the Inn and "a new path will reveal itself". She'll send you back to the ground.

As you're back, the princess asks to hold the sword. She'll play with it for a bit before Loraine shows up once again and attacks the princess and steals the sword. She'll tell you to go die elsewhere before accepting that she'll have to fight you. The fight will stop before you defeat her and she'll start charging an attack. The princess throws a stone to distract her and you'll stab her in the stomach. She will start shapeshifting into other characters and speak nonsense before dying and dropping the Champion Sword. The Little Princess will fall asleep from the exhaustion and you'll pick her up and carry her away.

Inn Take-off

After making your way back to the Inn, the Little Princess questions how the two of you are going to find a new path. However, interrupting her, a bunch of Invaders will fall from the sky, attacking you. You ask the Little Princess to go into the Inn and find some potions. She will do so while you go on to clear the Invaders out the forest.

As you defeat the invaders, more waves will spawn and you'll get a cutscene of the Little Princess digging around the inn. Suddenly, some purple goo drops from the ceiling and you are shown a weird flower on it. From the middle of the flower, even more slime drops along with a person covered in it. The person gets up and it turns out to be Loraine. She quickly ignores the Little Princess and goes to press some switch which brings a helm out of the floor.

The Little Princess screams for you to return to the Inn and you'll have to run as even more invaders spawn around you. Once you reach the Inn, it'll break off from the ground and start flying. You pass out, and when you wake up, you find yourself on the roof of the inn. You fly to a floating castle and the Inn parks there. As soon as you park, a bunch of androids come at you screaming "intruder." Loraine demands you give her the Champion Sword which she then uses to put on the ground. As soon as she does, the androids go away. Loraine asks if she can just join your party, and you can accept her as a permanent hero on your roster. Once you do, you finish Princess and the Legendary Sword quest and unlock Heavenhold with Loraine's Inn as the center.
